Fans shared pics of their ‘crimble crumble’ on social media
Fans of Friday Night Dinner have been treating themselves to some crumble in honour of Paul Ritter.
The actor, who played father of the family Martin Goodman, passed away on Monday after suffering from a brain tumour. The television world along with the cast and fans of the show have understandably been left reeling by the tragic news.
In the much-loved sitcom, crumble was the favourite dessert of the family, going by the name of ‘crimble crumble.’ So fans have shown their love for the show and Ritter, who was only 54 when he died, by making their own crumbles and sharing their creations online, with plenty of references to the show in the hashtags.
One user posted their pic with the caption: “‘Crimble Crumble’ with extra cinnamon for my #FridayNightDinner#RIPPaulRitter #S***OnIt.”
Another wrote: “Crimble crumble, a cuppa and an episode or 2 of Friday Night Dinner, in honour of Paul Ritter. #lovelybitofsquirrel”

The sad news of Ritter’s passing was confirmed by the actor’s agent on Monday 5 April.
Tributes have since poured in from across the acting world in memory of him. Co-star Tom Rosenthal described him as a “devastatingly intelligent and conscientious person,” whilst Tamsin Greig, who played his on-screen wife in the sitcom, wrote in the Guardian that “his quiet, loyal, compassionate friendship will stay with me forever.”
