Tilly Ramsay has hit back at a radio host who called her a ‘chubby little thing’

Tilly Ramsay has urged a radio host to “be kinder” after he commented on her weight and dancing ability during his radio show.

Tilly, who is the daughter of celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay, is currently taking part in Strictly Come Dancing and is partnered up with pro dancer Nikita Kuzmin.

Speaking on his LBC show, host Steve Allen took a message from a listener before commenting on her performance on Strictly, saying that he was “bored of her already.” He then described her as a “chubby little thing.”

He said: “Tilly Ramsay is on Celebrity MasterChef Australia, is she? Well she can’t blooming well dance, I’m bored with her already.

“She’s a chubby little thing, isn’t she? Have you noticed? Probably her dad’s cooking, I should imagine.”

The influencer has now responded to the comments, saying that she won’t let anyone get away with making comments about her weight.

In a post to Instagram, the 19-year-old said: “I try not to read and listen to comments and negativity however recently being called out on a national radio station by a 67-year-old man is a step too far.

“Steve please feel free voice your opinions however I draw the line at commenting on my appearance. It’s such a shame that someone is trying to make such a positive experience negative.

“This isn’t the first and definitely won’t be the last comment made about my appearance and I accept that and I’m learning to accept myself.

“But please remember that words can hurt and at the end of the day I am only 19 and I’m so grateful for all the amazing opportunities I have been able to take part in and I understand that being in the public eye obviously comes with it’s own repercussions and I’ve been aware of this from a young age.

“However I won’t tolerate people that think it’s okay to publicly comment and scrutinise anyone’s weight and appearance. Love Tilly xx.”

The comments were flooded with support from celebrity friends, including Fred Sirieix, Giovanna Fletcher, Roman Kemp, her Strictly co-stars Ugo Monye and John Whaite and many of the show’s professional dancers.

But it was perhaps comedian Jason Manford who summed up most people’s feelings best when he commented: “He’s always been an absolute c**t, f**k him and the horse he rode in on.

“You’re enjoying your life and bitter bitches like this can’t help being negative because they didn’t have love and support as a child like you clearly have.”
