She played the beloved Morag Bellingham, Alf Stewart’s sister, in the show
Home and Away star Cornelia Frances, who played the beloved Morag Bellingham on the soap for 30 years, has died aged 77 after a battle with cancer.
After being diagnosed with bladder cancer last year, the illness sadly spread to her hip. Australia’s Daily Telegraph have reported that the actress has now passed away at her home in Sydney. She was surrounded by family and friends.
Frances is best known for her long-running role as the fiery and fiercely independent lawyer Morag Bellingham in the popular soap.
Aside from her role in Home and Away, Frances also hosted the Australian version of The Weakest Link.
For Home and Away fans, Morag will always be fondly remembered as the scheming sister of Ray Meagher’s beloved character, Alf Stewart.
Since the sad news broke, plenty of her co-stars and friends have paid tribute to the popular actress.
So deeply saddened to hear of the passing of darling friend Cornelia Francis #fabulouswoman #heartofgold 🌹🌹🌹😢😢
