Detectives are investigating the fatal stabbing of a man in Kensington

Police were called at approximately 10.21pm to reports of a stabbing on Cathcart road, SW5.

Officers attended along with London Ambulance Service.

A man, believed to be aged in his 40s, was found with multiple stab wounds.

Despite the best efforts of the medical teams, he died at the scene shortly after 11pm.

His next of kin have been informed, although formal identification awaits.

A post-mortem will take place in due course.

Detectives from the homicide and major crime command are investigating. A murder investigation has been opened.

A crime scene remains in place.

No arrests have been made at this early stage, and enquiries continue.

Mayor of London Sadiq Khan said in a statement that he was “deeply saddened to learn of the fatal stabbing of a man in Kensington last night and my thoughts are with his friends and family.”

He added: “The police are doing everything in their power to bring those responsible to justice.”

Kensington MP Emma Dent Coad said she was: “devastated to hear of another life lost on the street in Kensington.”
