The Social Network 2 might be closer than you think
Mark Zuckerberg has revealed that he has already been teaching his daughter to code since they were three. A bit of a step up from The Hungry Caterpillar.
The Facebook c0-founder and CEO recently announced the rebranding of his social network umbrella to ‘Meta’, with a new holding company set to prioritise AR (augmented reality) development – but his plans for the future run through the family also.
In a recent interview with The Times, Zuckerberg’s wife and mother of two, Priscilla Chan, applauded her husband for taking such an active role in teaching his kids – with one of the subjects she mentioned being coding.

Zuckerberg and Chan have two daughters, August (left) and Maxima (right), aged four and five, respectively. Whilst Chan stated that coding is something he shares with both of his children, she said “Mark has been doing that with August since she turned three.”
Back in June, ‘The Zuck’ even shared an image of his youngest August learning how to code on a program called Kano, aimed at getting kids and beginners into coding on an entry-level.
The brand also manufactures a number of purpose-built PC products intended for those getting into coding but here you can see the four-year-old getting in some practice on a Mac.

Whilst you would have assumed ‘Max’ would’ve been the first to be enrolled into coding school – and she may well have been the first, who knows? – he seemingly started August on the path to programming earliest.
Zuckerberg himself first learned to code in sixth grade, (our year seven, i.e. aged 11-12), citing C++ For Dummies as his first introduction to coding.
The way it’s going, it sounds like his daughters could be miles ahead of him by the time they reach that milestone, let alone when they turn 19 – the age at which he started his work on ‘TheFacebook’ back in 2004.
