The image seemingly matches previous pictures taken of the Royal Family
A picture shown in court seemingly shows Ghislaine Maxwell and Jeffrey Epstein lounging at the Queen’s Balmoral residence.
The currently undated image is believed to have been taken in 1999 when Prince Andrew allegedly invited the couple to stay at the royal estate.
The image was shown during Maxwell’s trial where she is currently standing under allegations of sexual abuse and human trafficking.
Maxwell is currently standing trial for:
- Conspiracy to entice minors to travel to engage in illegal sex acts
- Enticement of a minor to travel to engage in illegal sex acts
- Conspiracy to transport minors with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity
- Transporting a minor with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity
- Sex trafficking conspiracy
- Sex trafficking of a minor
Maxwell has denied all charges and her defence say she is being used as a scapegoat for the crimes of her late boyfriend and business partner Epstein.
Prosecutors are looking to prove the idea that Epstein and Maxwell were “partners in crime”, hence the image being used as evidence.
The image was discovered in Epstein’s Manhattan mansion and although not proven, seems to match similar pictures taken of the Queen and her family.
While Prince Andrew has not been accused of anything in this case, the jury has heard how the Duke of York regularly travelled on Epstein’s private jet.
The socialite, who was previously referred to as a “monster in designer clothes“, could face 35 years in prison if found guilty – despite pleading not guilty on all charges.
