Their war of words continues
Rather than dwell on the momentous occasion as North Korea and the U.S. finally sat down and pursued a diplomatic means to avert the possibility of World War III, President Trump has taken a few minutes out of his busy schedule to have a pop at an actor that appeared in The Adventures of Rocky & Bullwinkle.
Granted, we don’t want that remark to sound too disparaging towards De Niro because we all know that he’s an acting icon.
Hell, the man has appeared in Heat, Taxi Driver, Raging Bull, The Deer Hunter and countless others, but you would think that his recent “Fuck Trump!” comments at the Tony Awards would be pretty low on the agenda of the US president – especially given the importance of his recent meeting with Kim Jong-un in Singapore.
Of course, De Niro has made no secret of his hatred for Trump – he previously said “Trump’s so blatantly stupid. He’s a punk. He’s a dog. He’s a pig. He’s a con. He’s a bullshit artist. He’s an idiot. He’s an embarrassment. He talks about how he wants to punch people in the face, well, I’d like to punch him in the face” – so the two men aren’t exactly close friends.
On that note, Trump has responded to De Niro’s comments via Twitter.
He said “Robert De Niro, a very Low IQ individual, has received to many shots to the head by real boxers in movies. I watched him last night and truly believe he may be “punch-drunk.” I guess he doesn’t realize the economy is the best it’s ever been with employment being at an all time high, and many companies pouring back into our country. Wake up Punchy!.
‘To many shots.’ To.
Hell, we’re certain that Trump couldn’t give a crap about having perfect grammar and it should be noted that De Niro did take the first verbal shot in their recent war of words, but if you’re ever going to have a pop at someone’s intelligence, make sure that you get it right on your own end.
