In the new ad campaign, Jenner is seen riding on horseback during her visit to a rural distillery in Jalisco, Mexico.
Sharing some snaps on Instagram from her shoot in Mexico, Jenner wrote: “What an incredible experience i have had thus far, learning about this beautiful place, it’s beautiful culture, and the beautiful people!
“@drink818 has launched in California…we will be rolling out to the rest of the US all summer long, keep a look out!!!”

However, the post was met with huge amounts of criticism online and it was not long until the comments on the Instagram post had to be disabled.
People then took to other social media platforms, including Twitter, to express their views about Jenner’s new ad campaign.
Some Twitter users accused the supermodel of cultural appropriation.

Another Twitter user, angered by Jenner’s post, wrote: “I’m Mexican, living in Mexico and tbh when I saw Kendall’s add my blood started to boil.
“This is obviously cultural appropiation and it’s not how mexican people should be portrayed because is a stereotipe. This just makes me sad but not surprised. [sic]”
