For a long time, the landscape of English football was a rather homogeneous one. It was English, Welsh, Scottish or Irish players running around, mostly kicking and elbowing each other with the occasional piece of astounding skill.
In recent decades however that all began to change, with the influx of European, African, Asian and South American footballers injecting the domestic game with a vim and verve that it hadn’t seen before.
In the most recent episode of Jack Whitehall: Training Days, Jack spoke to two of Chelsea’s most recent Spanish imports: Cesc Fabregas and Alvaro Morata about numerous things including hairstyles, life and sport in general.
Inspired by these two stars, we had a little think to ourselves about the other Spanish imports to England and most notably, where they came from. Sure, they came from Spain, hence their being Spanish, but exactly where?
