What are Manchester United’s stars driving to training?

JOE

Manchester United look to have been stuck in first gear for most of this season.

Even so, the huge weekly wage packets brought home by their star players means many squad members can make the daily trip to training in style.

The car park at United’s AON Carrington training complex is regularly filled bumper to bumper with first team players’ expensive cars, and thanks to CarKeys.co.uk, we can take a closer look at…

Wayne Rooney – BMW i8

United’s captain has recently been behind the wheel of a BMW i8 hybrid sports car. If you fancy treating yourself to one of these, it’ll set you back a mere £105,000.

Memphis Depay – Rolls-Royce Wraith

Memphis Depay hasn’t set the word alight since arriving from PSV Eindhoven last summer, but his choice of car is sure to turn a few heads.

The Rolls-Royce Wraith is worth around £230,000 but it’s thought Depay imported his left-hand drive Wraith from the Netherlands when he made his summer switch.

Daley Blind – Chevrolet Corvette Stingray

Another of United’s Dutch contingent, Daley Blind, has been spotted in a Chevrolet Corvette Stingray this season.

Chevrolet are currently United’s shirt sponsor, meaning players can easily access cars such as this V8-run Corvette.

Although Chevrolet withdrew from the UK market last year, a Corvette such as this can still be ordered for around £62,500.

David De Gea – Chevrolet Captiva

Goalkeeper David de Gea has also opted to make the most of the club’s Chevrolet partnership.

The Spaniard has frequently been spotted in this Chevrolet Captiva SUV, a car that’s also favoured by manager Louis van Gaal.

Marouane Fellaini – Audi A7 Sportback

Marouane Fellaini has been seen driving an Audi A7 Sportback since his 2013 switch to Old Trafford.

The model used by the Belgian boasts Audi’s famous Quattro four-wheel drive powertrain.

Phil Jones – Range Rover

Defender Phil Jones is one of a number of United stars who drives a Range Rover.

Jones has been spotted driving one on numerous occasions, with German team-mate Bastian Schweinsteiger also a Range Rover owner.

Chris Smalling – Bentley Continental

The Bentley Continental is a popular choice amongst footballers with money to burn.

England international Chris Smalling owns a black Continental, with fellow defender Marcos Rojo said to drive a white one.

With such fine motors on show, spare a thought for poor Cameron Borthwick-Jackson.
