Luka who could be leaving the Bernabeu
Who would possibly be silly enough to sell the sublimely talented Luka Modric in the very prime of his footballing career? Well Real Madrid, obviously.
According to the Daily Star, Real are willing to sacrifice the diminutive 29-year-old in order to balance the books before chucking a fortune at Juventus for Paul Pogba.
The Star suggest that Manchester City in particular would be keen on snaring Modric, but would face stern competition from their red neighbours across the city.
Arsenal keen on a Sterling exchange
Just a few days after Liverpool were rumoured to be after Theo Walcott, fresh reports in the Daily Mirror suggest that the London club are monitoring Liverpool’s Raheem Sterling.
Arsene Wenger is said to be a huge admirer of the 20-year-old and would hope to take advantage of the current impasse in contract negotiations.
The England international won’t be short on offers if he fails to agree a new deal with Liverpool though, with Manchester City also sniffing around Sterling with interest.
Manchester United to welcome Mats?
Germany’s leading sports magazine Kicker report that Borussia Dortmund defender Mats Hummels would seriously consider leaving the Bundesliga.
They report that the 26-year-old has issued the German version of a come-and-get-me plea by claiming he is “open to the idea of playing abroad”.
This will come as welcome news to Louis van Gaal as he has made no secret of his admiration for the player and would flipping love him at Old Trafford.
