The relationship between the fans and a club can be a delicate one.
It’s easy to cheer for your team when results are going well. But when the chips are down, things start to get a little muddled.
After rumours emerged during the week that Louis van Gaal has just one game to save his Manchester United career, some fans began hoping for the short-term pain of being knocked out of the FA Cup by Derby County on Friday night to make the potentially long-term gain replacing Van Gaal.
While the majority of United fans will be lending their support to the team, there’s a small – but vocal – group who would rather see them fail.
Almost beginning to hope we lose vs Derby.

@utdreport I hope we lose to Derby…qualifying for UCL is more important than FA cup…atleast the loss will sack him

If we lose to Derby and sack LVG and appoint José then we may be able to salvage the season and scrape 4th place
