‘Adam Lallama’ isn’t the worst football-themed tattoo you’ll see today

Although it's pretty damn terrible.

Ben Kiely

Tattoos are a tricky one.

Ever since people started referring to them as ‘body art,’ the ability to rip the piss out of them has diminished. After all, the nature of art is subjective. One man’s shelf of tinned soup is another man’s opus, much like one man’s Limp Bizkit is another man’s Beatles – and vice versa.

The pretentious types among us – you know the ones that wear scarves indoors and prefer to drink out of jam jars – they’ll argue that no matter how unsightly or ridiculous ink is, it should be considered ‘art’ and therefore untouchable as long as it harbours some sort of personal meaning.

We implore those snobs to let us know the artistic merit behind getting Adam Lallana as a llama permanently scarred onto your skin.

Although, the final result is pretty damn funny.

We realise that may split people. Some may enjoy the shock comedy element, others may see it as the person who got it resigning themselves to the reality of never having another successful job interview again.

So, here’s one we can all agree on as terrible. It comes courtesy of former Roma player Amato Ciciretti, who now plays with Benevento in Serie B.

He’s decided to get his own twitter handle on his calf. Although considering the caption translates as “promise kept,” we reckon he may have lost some sort of cruel bet.
