This is perhaps jumping the gun a bit.
Marcus Rashford experienced the sortĀ of debut that was surely beyond his wildest dreamsĀ on Thursday night, when he was hastily drafted in to replace the injured Anthony Martial against FCĀ Midtjylland.
The 18-year-old starlet scored a brace in the 5-1 victory, and earned rave reviews for his composure and sharp-shooting. TheĀ Old Trafford faithful were understandably giddy at such an dramatic introduction.
But it seems like a few have perhaps gone a bit far in their unbridled enthusiasm. Indeed there’s one particular comparison which looks to be as common as it is premature.
After a single senior game, these United fans are convinced that Rashford is superior to another Mancunian graduate of the Old Trafford academy – Arsenal’s Danny Welbeck.
We’re not entirely sure why the comparison is being made, or what exactly the logic is, but this lot seem convinced…
