High praise indeed
For football supporters of a certain age, Alessandro Del Piero represents everything that was good about the game during the 1990s. The former Juventus forward was tough on the pitch, incredibly skilful and, not unlike many of his compatriots of the time, was cool as a cucumber.
The 45-year-old won quite a lot during his career, but what does he think of those who currently occupy the upper echelons of world club football.
We caught up with him at the Laureus Sport Awards in the German capital of Berlin, where he told us of his admiration for Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool and, in particular, striker Mohamed Salah.
