Alex Ferguson won’t be happy with the fee for Anthony Martial

Fergie does not approve

In his time at Old Trafford, Alex Ferguson was never one to shy away from letting his true feelings be known.

Towards the end of his career, the manager saw transfer fees increase massively and ended up missing out on some players as rivals overpaid (in his eyes) for talented youngsters.

One such situation was back in 2012 when Ferguson was beaten to the signing of Lucas Moura by Paris Saint-Germain.

And if his reaction to that deal is anything to go by, Fergie won’t be impressed with Louis van Gaal dropping pup to £58m on 19-year-old Anthony Martial.

“I find it quite amazing that a club can pay €45 million for a 19-year-old boy… When somebody’s paying €45 million for a 19-year-old boy you have to say the game’s gone mad.”

As if there wasn’t enough pressure on Martial already.
