Alexandre Lacazette has wasted no time in acclimatising to the demands of the Premier League, particularly when it comes to games at the Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal’s record signing absolutely loves playing at his new club’s ground, having found the net on four occasions in three Premier League home games since his big-money move from Lyon in the summer.
Lacazette scored a brace on Monday night, when the Gunners coasted to a 2-0 victory over West Brom, and his trademark celebration has quickly become a regular sight at the corner flag of the Emirates.
Whenever the French international scores a goal, he mimics playing the trumpet and he’s since explained how that particular celebration came about.
“It was based on a bet with a friend of mine who really likes music that involves trumpets,” Lacazette told Arsenal Player.
“It was a joke between the two of us. That’s how it all started, it was all a bet. I’ve just kept doing it and I really like it.
“The first time was in a friendly: Lyon against Sporting Lisbon, I believe, and then I did it in the league at Nancy.”
Lacazette has already endeared himself to his new fans with his impressive strike rate, while manager Arsene Wenger insists that there is much more to the 26-year-old’s game than his contribution to the scoresheet.
“I think he is not only a goalscorer,” Wenger said of his new forward. “His link-up play is good.
“He fights as well, he’s not fazed by the physical challenges that West Brom gave today. He looks to [have] adapted very quickly and very well.”
