There’s going to be an awful lot of people walking around with the right kit but the wrong squad number this season.
Quite a few Premier League clubs have released the official shirt numbers of their players and there were a number of surprises.
Luke Shaw opted to change from number 3 to 23 which left some fans annoyed because they had already bought the new Manchester United home kit with 3 on the back.
But, as we told you earlier, the United left back did the right thing and offered to replace the jersey for certain supporters who had tweeted him.
But Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero, who has taken Edin Dzeko’s old squad number 10 instead of 16 – which he’s had since coming to the Etihad – has gone one better.
The club announced:Â “Fans can send their No.16 shirts to be signed by Sergio and sent back to them, or to exchange for an unsigned No.10 shirt. Please note that only 2015/16 Season shirts with Kun Aguero 16 will be accepted.”
That’s the way to look after your fans.
