How hard can it be to sort out a fight?
Where Amir Khan and Kell Brook are concerned, it looks nigh on impossible.
It’s been in the offing for a while – a huge all-British superfight between a former two-weight world champion and the current IBF world champion at Wembley.
Boxing fans would lap it up – but it seems like Eddie Hearn’s attempts to get Khan to fight his man are proving hard even for one of the sport’s best known match makers.
Khan says he wants the fight and came out swinging on Twitter at Kell Brook who he claims wanted a 50/50 cut of the potentially multi-million pound bout.
Brook wants 50/50 split with me, Wake up son and smell the coffee! be realistic and make it happen, even Eddie told you your not worth that!

This is Khan’s rant in full in which he claimed that Brook was putting a mandatory defence against Kevin Bizier before the potential all-British title fight.
However, Brook’s promoter Hearn has now lifted the lid on what he claims were Khan’s demands for the fight which was earmarked for June 4.
Hearn, who said the Sheffield champ is doing everything he can to make the fight happen, took to Twitter to air ‘the truth’ – claiming Khan wanted upwards of £10m for the fight.
Incorrect.Your lawyer asked for 80-20.We have confirmed we will give you greater split to get it made @AmirKingKhan https://t.co/Bz2YtuQ07I

Then he really let loose…
Ok..I was asked not to say anything in media re our negotiations but guess that’s been breached! On Monday I met with @AmirKingKhan lawyer..
— Eddie Hearn (@EddieHearn) January 22, 2016
He asked for a £10m guarantee with upside to fight Brook with Kell getting approx £2 to £2.5m. After I spat my coffee out we said no thanks

Since then I have been in discussions with Al Haymons team to try and get this made. We are willing to take the smaller split to get this

made but enough of the insults. @AmirKingKhan we will make this easy for you 60-40 in your favour (Kell is World Champ) and you have it.

Hearn then went on Sky Sports to explain things even further.
“It has been very positive the last few weeks because we’ve been talking and when there’s dialogue, it’s always good,” he said. “But, like I said, when we had that meeting on Monday, I was left gobsmacked by their demands,” he said.Â
“It is effectively bigger than an 80-20 split. We are talking about a voluntary defence of a world title by a world champion Kell Brook to Amir Khan.Â
“I appreciate Khan is probably a bigger name than Kell Brook, but Kell Brook is world champion and he needs some kind of parity, but more importantly he needs respect. That’s why we are talking about a 60-40 split, it’s a great deal for Amir Khan.”
