And the fastest dribbler in football is…

Yes, that's Antonio Valencia at number three

Stick that in your pipe and smoke it, dissenting Real Madrid fans.

Gareth Bale has been having a tough enough time of it at club level of late, having discovered just how fickle Real Madrid fans can be when the mood takes them.

Fresh from his match-winning performance for Wales against Israel at the weekend, Bale’s confidence will be further boosted by the fact that he’s been revealed as the fastest dribbler in the world of football.

A study carried out by Mexican club Pachuca and endorsed by FIFA found that the Welsh wizard is the fastest man around with the ball at his feet, having been clocked dribbling the ball at 36.9 km/h.

Pachuca carried out the study to see if anyone dribbled faster than their own speedster, Jurgen Damm, who ranked second having been clocked at 35.23 km/h, just ahead of Manchester United’s Antonio Valencia in third.

Surprisingly enough, Cristiano Ronaldo only ranked in fifth (he won’t take kindly to finishing behind Aaron Lennon), while there was also room for Wayne Rooney, Theo Walcott, Lionel Messi and Sergio Ramos in the top ten.

We can see how Bale finished out in front to be fair.

  1. Gareth Bale (Real Madrid): 36.9 km/h
