Ander Herrera is quickly becoming one of the most popular players amongst the Old Trafford faithful.
Although he isn’t held in the same esteem as Paul Scholes just yet, he certainly seems to be doing just as much talking to the media as his predecessor.
He delighted fans by admitting that he sympathises with Spanish people in Liverpool as he struggles to understand the scouse accent, before discussing how Louis van Gaal isn’t quite as bad as people think he is.
Now, Herrera has been talking about his team-mates and has singled out one in particular as being crucial to United’s success.
It won’t be much of a surprise to learn that it is David De Gea that is praised by the midfielder.
“He’s a genius,” Herrera told Catalunya Radio. “Purely on talent, I’ve never seen someone like him and we are lucky to have him.
“The talent he has, very few have it in the world and David is one of them.”
Given his match-winning performances throughout last year, we’re sure many of the club’s supporters would agree with the Spaniard on this one.
