Ander Herrera definitely isn’t losing the run of himself.
Despite being hailed by Paul Scholes as Louis van Gaal’s best signing of the 2014 summer transfer window and being compared to the midfield great by many Manchester United fans, Herrera doesn’t agree with the comparisons.
The Spaniard recently admitted that it “is a little bit of an embarrassing situation,” to be discussed in the same breath as the United and England legend because Scholes is on a different level.
“I feel very proud when someone says I can play like him but I don’t think so,” Herrera said.

“I am Ander Herrera. I am not as good as him.
“But I will try to do everything for this club. I can learn a lot from him.”
Keep your chin up, Ander. You’re not so bad yourself.
Herrera and his United teammates arrived back in the Manchester during the early hours of Tuesday morning following their cancelled preseason derby game with Manchester City in Beijing. Instead of heading straight to bed to sort out any jetlag, the team went straight to their Carrington-based training complex for a two hour session.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic is also believed to have trained on Tuesday ahead of his first appearance in a United shirt against Galatasaray in his native Sweden on Saturday.
