Ander Herrera has been one of Manchester United’s few bright sparks over the last couple of seasons.
The Spanish Under-21 international impressed when given a chance under Louis van Gaal, and has really come into his own since being given a proper run in the first-team under José Mourinho.
The shackles put on Ander Herrera by LVG are now completely off. A shame his career stagnated under him. Now we're seeing the real Ander.

As well as his ability on the ball and general popularity among Manchester United fans, you might have noticed that he likes a tackle.
And by tackle, we mean foul.
So when he was dismissed against Burnley for two yellow cards, it would be fair to say quite a few people weren’t exactly shocked.
If ever a player had a red coming, Herrera

I really like Herrera but that red card has been coming last few weeks

Finally a ref with bottle to send Herrera off. Thug alright. Deserved. Been coming for last 3 games.

That red card for Ander Herrera was coming. Should have been sent off vs Liverpool.

Herrera had picked up 16 yellow cards in his first two seasons at Old Trafford, but this was the first time he has been sent off while playing for the club.
He will now miss the trip to Swansea next weekend, but as the sending-off was for two yellow cards he will be back to face Arsenal the following week.
6 – Ander Herrera has been red carded for the first time in the Premier League, having been shown a red card 5 times in La Liga. Previous.

The game at Old Trafford ended goalless, with former United goalkeeper Tom Heaton keeping out his previous employers despite Mourinho’s team registering 26 shots and winning 19 corners against the Clarets.
United are now on a run of just one win in seven games in the league, leaving them eighth in the table at the time of writing.
