Angry Louis van Gaal demands apology from media before storming out of press conference

Going nowhere... for now.

Louis van Gaal is very much still in charge of Manchester United, and he’s not happy with the media.

The 64-year-old has been described as a dead man walking by many, so it perhaps shouldn’t come as a surprise that he demanded an apology from those who have written him off as United manager.

But few expected him to storm out of a press conference after questions about his future.

“Has anybody in this room not a feeling to apologise to me?” the Dutchman said before his abrupt departure, making reference to alleged reports that he had been sacked already.

Van Gaal avoided any doubt by revealing that the only reason he was even attending the press briefing – ahead of United’s Boxing Day meeting with Stoke City – is because he had to.

He called on the media to “stick to the facts,” saying:”When I get calls from Ed Woodward, Sir Alex Ferguson and David Gill, because you are creating something that is not good, that is not being the facts, and now I have to answer questions. I don’t think I want to do it.”
