Hearn confirmed the bout on Wednesday
British heavyweights Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury have agreed a two-fight deal, according to promoter Eddie Hearn.
In an interview with Sky Sports, Hearn confirmed that the two champions had agreed a deal in principle for the pair of bouts, and that while exact details such as timing and location need to be confirmed, much is already agreed.
“We’re making great progress,” Hearn told Sky Sports. “There is still a lot to overcome. We are looking at venues and dates.
“We’ve been talking to MTK, giving them the assurances from Joshua’s side that all the details on the structure of the deal is approved from our side. And it is from Fury’s side, as well.
“We’re in a good place. It’s fair to say that, in principle, both guys have agreed to that fight. Two fights.”
Dillian Whyte is due to face the WBC heavyweight champion Fury before any fights with Joshua, as mandatory challenger.
Fury became champion after beating Deontay Wilder in their rematch in Las Vegas in February of this year. Joshua, meanwhile, won back his belts after defeating Andy Ruiz Jr. in a rematch of their previous title fight in December of last year.
