Anthony Joshua will take on undefeated American Charles Martin hoping to continue his 100% knockout record at the O2 Arena.
But the 15-0-0 fighter faces a tough task in an experienced American who has yet to taste defeat in a professional career dating back to October 2012.
‘Prince Charles’ has secured an impressive 21 knockouts from 24 bouts, but this infographic from MyVoucherCodes shows this isn’t the only area where Joshua edges out his opponent.
Joshua has needed just 32 rounds to dismiss his 15 opponents, an average of 2.1 rounds per bout. Indeed the seven-round victory over Dillian Whyte last time out was the only one of his outings not to be over before the end of the third.
Martin, in contrast, has been taken beyond the third round on six occasions and needed 10 rounds to get the better of Raphael Zumbano Love, a man who Joshua saw off midway through the second.
These comparisons have already been made by some in the lead-up to the fight, but one which has yet to see the light of day is the all-important staredown contrast.
While Martin has averaged 14 seconds per staredown at pre-fight weigh-ins, AJ puts the southpaw to shame with a huge 23 seconds. And that’s the real quiz.
