Tyson Fury didn’t take long to give his opinion on Anthony Joshua’s second round KO of Charles Martin and when it came, it was less than complimentary.
In a tweet that described Joshua as ‘slow and ponderous’, Fury made it clear that he would relish the opportunity to ‘slay the lamb’.
A matter of hours later and the newly-crowned IBF heavyweight champion fired back at Fury, suggesting the Mancunian should learn from him.
“Why am I going to lower myself to his level? He should represent himself like a champion, he’s a kid,” Joshua said.
“I’m not going to say much to that. I’m not going to lower myself to his level.
“He’s predictable. He should be happy that I won to bring some limelight back to the heavyweight division. Why hate on a man who is just trying to get somewhere in life?
“I don’t know why he is worrying about me. He should just focus on getting in good shape for Klitschko.
“You’ve seen what an eight-pack and some muscles can do, knock a champion out in two rounds! Maybe he should take some tips!”
