Anthony Joshua or Tyson Fury? Wladimir Klitschko gives his opinion on the world’s best heavyweight

Who is the better fighter?

Who better to give his opinion on who’s the better fighter – Anthony Joshua or Tyson Fury – than the only man to fight both?

Wladimir Klitschko’s storied and heavily decorated career ended in unfamiliar circumstances as, for the first time in 21 years, he suffered consecutive defeats in the ring.

The Ukrainian legend found himself on the wrong end of a unanimous decision against Fury in 2015 before he was stopped by ‘AJ’ in the 11th round of their Wembley showdown in April.

And with Fury’s return imminent and Joshua’s stock higher than ever before, the only man to have shared a ring with both of them has given his opinion on the who’s the superior heavyweight.

BoxingNews24 quote Klitschko as saying that Joshua is “hands down the world’s best heavyweight.”

The recently retired Klitschko went on to insist that he had “been there and done that,” after questions of a potential return to the ring.

Fury, meanwhile, remains thoroughly unimpressed by ‘AJ’ and his championship credentials.

The controversial heavyweight is in the midst of shedding the considerable weight he’s put on in his time away from the ring and has recently moved up the gears in his trash-talking of Joshua.

Speaking to IFL TV recently, Fury said: “After looking at the fight on the weekend with AJ and Takam, AJ struggled with, let’s face it, a glorified midget, no disrespect to midgets, because I happen to like midgets and I’ve sh****d a couple.

“But he was a glorified midget in the heavyweight division.

“He was a tough man and he was brave but he ain’t Tyson Fury. He ain’t 6ft 9, 18 stone, can turn on a fifty pence coin.

“He ain’t that man and he [Joshua] struggled with that man [Takam] – so how’s he going to beat this man if he struggles with midgets who just come forward with their hands up?”
