This would be Anthony Joshua’s toughest fight yet.
But it would give him the chance to add a European heavyweight title to the British and Commonwealth straps he currently holds.
The man who stands in the former Olympic gold medal-winner’s way is fellow British heavyweight Dereck Chisora.
Current incumbent Robert Helenius has relinquished his title as he did not want to face Del Boy.
But now the 32-year-old London fighter’s agent Kalle Sauerland is eyeing a mouth-watering, big money showdown with British prospect Joshua on April 9.
“We’ve just had some news through that Helenius will relinquish the European title rather than face Chisora,” Â Sauerland told the Daily Mirror.
“We are looking at the next in line and that’s Joshua.
“I will look to sit down with Eddie over the coming days and see if we can get this done.
“Dereck is up for the fight, he’s ready for April 9 if we can do it. We know that is when Joshua is fighting.”
Joshua, who has won all 15 of his pro fights by knockout, has one eye on a possible world heavyweight shot this year – and Chisora will be his toughest test to date.
Chisora is a former British, Commonwealth and European champion himself and has fought for a world title before.
He has bouts against David Haye, Tyson Fury and Vitali Klitschko to his name – albeit losses – but he will surely give the Watford native his hardest fight yet.
