After being left red-faced in their pursuit of Pedro earlier this week, reports suggest that Manchester United have turned their attention to a new target.
Antoine Griezmann of Atletico Madrid is now in United’s sights according to The Daily Mail, although his rumoured £56m buy-out clause may prove problematic.
When a tweet supposedly from Griezmann’s brother started to circulate on Twitter, excitement amongst United fans soon began to heighten.
Although the tweet was later deleted, it has only added to fresh speculation that a move for Griezmann might explain United’s failure to complete a deal for Pedro. With Louis van Gaal said to have had reservations about Pedro’s pace, the same certainly can’t be said of the French international who had an exceptional season for Atleti last year.
