Now we don’t know what led to the bizarrely brief cameo appearance from Antonio Conte in this grime music video.
But judging by the brevity of his part, we’re going to stick our neck out there and suggest he simply ran into the artist in question, who goes by the name of MC Eyez, while out shopping.
Eyez is bursting on to the grime scene and doesn’t seem to need much help as he’s gone from strength to strength this year, but any publicity isn’t going to hurt.
Check out the new video for Eyez’s new hit, Smoking Fine, and take particular note of the individual posing with the rapper at the 1.40 mark.
Yep, that’s definitely Chelsea manager Antonio Conte.
Now there are two possibilities here.
Either Eyez enlisted the help of the Italian for his new banger and made the creative decision to include one of the most recognisable faces in football for less than three seconds.
Or…
Eyez happened to bump into Conte in West London and asked for a picture, only for the Blues boss to be captured arm in arm with the opportunistic Eyez and his quick-thinking cameraman.
We can’t say with any certainty which option is more likely but it definitely does seem like Conte opened his mouth to say something before the camera cut away to the next scene.
Perhaps “did you get the photo?” was what was on its way out of the 47-year-old’s mouth.
Who are we to say? Conte could be the biggest Eyez fan on the planet for all we know.
