Yeah, they’ll face some competition for the Monaco prodigy.
Given the fact that Arsenal’s greatest ever striker took his first steps as a professional footballer at Monaco, surely that gives the Gunners preferential treatment when it comes to securing the signature of Monaco’s supremely talented attacker Kylian Mbappé.
Yeah, because that’s how football works.
Much like countless other players that Arsene Wenger ‘almost’ signed, Arsenal did lodge a bid for Mbappé last summer and it appears that he’s still very much on their radar.
That tends to happen when you score 11 goals in your last 11 games and are in blistering form.
This being said, Arsenal scout Gilles Grimandi was in attendance at the Stade Louis II to see Mbappé open the scoring for Monaco against Pep Guardiola’s men and Gunners fans can’t help but get excited.

The incredible goalscoring form of the 18-year-old has seen him become one of the hottest properties in European football and after receiving another reminder of his talents, Arsenal fans are getting a tad bit excited about any potential move.
Here’s hoping that he just overlooks the whole Bayern Munich capitulation, Wenger Out campaign and the fact that Arsenal’s last league title came in 2003–04.
Still though, hope springs eternal. You have to admire their optimism.

We know exactly what you’re thinking.
Let's be honest Mbappe is far too good for Arsenal

There are Arsenal fans that will actually think we could've got Mbappe when he goes to Madrid/Barca/Bayern
