Arsenal fans + the internet = A heady mix.
Of course it’s folly to generalise, but generally online Gooners aren’t particularly backward in coming forward about the merits of their team. Each poll is there to be won and heaven help you if you dare criticise one of their world-beaters.
But it seems those of a red and white persuasion are getting inordinately excited about something other than the likes of Ozil, Sanchez or Bellerin. And just like them, it’s all about being efficient whilst looking good on the pitch doing it.
Arsenal have recently changed the lighting at the Emirates – from halogen floodlights to LED – and it’s got a few fans brimming with excitement…

Of course, Arsenal being Arsenal, these aren’t your standard lights. No! They can do tricks and stuff…
Nice to see a little of what our new floodlights can do too 🙂 #AFCvZAG #COYG pic.twitter.com/7nz982SrWR

Whilst others were concerned about the possible dangers…
@MrNigelMitchell whatever about the warning to not bring bags to the stadium, I hope that light show came with warning for the epileptics.

Others were less impressed…
@MrNigelMitchell probably our January budget gone on those lights…

Still, in swapping halogen for LED, Arsenal have trimmed their energy consumption by 30%. The Mayor of London is so impressed that he awarded them a Gold Award as part of the Business Energy Challenge.
Another addition to Arsene Wenger’s roll of honours.
