After a barren 2015, Wayne Rooney just can’t stop scoring this year.
The Manchester United captain helped his side pick up all three points at Anfield on Sunday with a late winner, and in doing so he set a new Premier League record.
Rooney now has 176 league goals for Man United, the most any player has ever scored for one team in the Premier League, eclipsing Thierry Henry’s record set during his time at Arsenal.
United fans were quick to mark the achievement.

A lot of people have slagged Rooney off at times. Me being one of them. But you can't argue with his record, truly is one of a kind #Wazza

But Arsenal fans didn’t feel that the record was a true reflection of the players’ abilities.
Only took Rooney an extra 100+ league games to break Henry's record. Well done.

It breaks my heart that an average player like Rooney will break Thiery Henry 175 goal record.
