Arsenal are said to be renewing their interest in Christopher Nkunku
With touted deals for Inter Milan’s Ivan Perisic and Dalian Yifang’s Yannick Carrasco looking increasingly unlikely due to the limited time left in the transfer window, Arsenal are said to be turning their attention to PSG youngster Christopher Nkunku.
Unai Emery’s side, whose recruitment process was thrown into disarray when head of recruitment Sven Mislintat left this month, had made a loan move for Carrasco at the beginning of the window.
The Belgian international is said to be keen on the move, but the Gunners’ loan fee was deemed too small by his club.
A subsequent loan bid for the Croatian winger Perisic saw the Inter Milan player hand in a transfer request, but Inter Milan’s insistence on either a permanent deal or loan with an obligation to buy.
While the club have signed Barcelona midfielder Denis Suarez on loan until the end of the season, the club are also said to be looking at PSG’s 21-year-old Nkunku.
The France under-21 international has made 13 league appearances for Thomas Tuchel’s side this season.
According to the BBC, Arsenal – whose chances of signing the midfielder are 50/50 – have told potential signings that they are in a position neither to make permanent signings this January nor commit now to making loans permanent in the summer.
