Arsenal unveil new third kit, which pays tribute to legendary former boss

No, not Arsene Wenger

Simon Lloyd

Oh hi there, football kit enthusiasts

We haven’t seen much of each other of late, have we? We did a few weeks back, when that mighty river of leaked football kit news was virtually bursting its banks. Now though, it’s nothing more than a pathetic trickle.

But fear not. We’re not done just yet.

Although the new season is drawing tantalisingly close, there are still football kits in need of being officially released.

So, without further ado, here’s a picture of Arsenal’s brand spanking new third kit. (Particularly well done if you’ve actually bothered to read all of the above without just scrolling down to look at the pictures.)

Courtesy of PUMA, the shirt is mint green with a navy trim – something you’ll all be aware of having used your eyes. What’s probably not as obvious is that the shirt is also a nod to the club’s history.

Featuring a W-shaped print across its chest, the shirt acknowledges the formation introduced by legendary manager Herbert Chapman.

Chapman famously deployed a ‘WM’ system and Arsenal’s new away shirt for the new season also features an ‘M’ graphic.

Lovely stuff.

The kits shorts and socks will be in the same colour, for anyone wishing to go all out and buy the entire new kit.
