Could one last move be on the cards?
Ashley Cole is set to leave LA Galaxy after the club declined to exercise the year extension option in his contract, the club have announced.
Cole joined the Galaxy in 2016 form AS Roma and has racked up 86 appearances for the side over the past two years.
He is one of many Premier League stars to have played for the California side, including David Beckham, Steven Gerrard, Robbie Keane and Nigel De Jong.
Ahead of the 2018 season, head coach Sigi Schmid named Cole Galaxy captain, but the former Chelsea left-back could not lead the club to the play-offs, unlike his old England teammate Wayne Rooney.
Eight players were released by the Galaxy as part of an end of season clear-out, but Zlatan Ibrahimović has been kept on despite being the same age as Cole, 37.
The clock is ticking for Cole, who has enjoyed a glittering club career that featured several Premier League titles and one Champions League title in 2012.
But he might fancy one last move before he hangs up his boots for good. Any European sides who need a back-up left back for the second half of the season could do a lot worse than picking up Cole on a short term contract.
