Manchester United’s hopes of signing Newcastle forward Ayoze Perez have been dealt a heavy blow after he signed a new long-term contract with the Magpies.
The new deal will keep the Spaniard on Tyneside until 2021 after a string of strong performances saw him linked with a move to Old Trafford in January.
The 22-year-old has scored 12 times in 63 appearances for Newcastle since joining from his boyhood club Tenerife in 2014, with five of those goals coming this season.
