Arsene Wenger could be set to swoop for another Barcelona youngster with reports emerging that 20-year-old Sergi Samper would be open to a move to the Emirates Stadium.
According to the Daily Mirror, the midfielder – whose release clause is thought to be around £8.5m – has grown frustrated with his lack of first team opportunities at the Nou Camp and is willing to swap Barcelona for London.
Samper would follow in the footsteps of former La Masia graduates to play for Arsenal, such as former captain Cesc Fabregas and current right-back Hector Bellerin.
Wenger is also considering a January move for Celta Vigo’s 28-year-old striker Nolito as he looks to reinforce his squad for a possible title push in the second half of the season.
