Jose Mourinho has named his Manchester United team for the 12:30pm FA Cup third round kick-off against Reading.
Schweinsteiger, despite another stellar week of training and upbeat tweets, is not in the starting XI.
The German has been named on the United bench and must watch on, again, as Marouane Fellaini continues his personal odyssey to figure out this centre-midfielder lark.
As touted by Mourinho on Friday, Wayne Rooney returns to captain the side while Sergio Romero gives David De Gea a day off. There are returns for Ashley Young, Daley Blind and Juan Mata too.

Timothy Fosu-Mensah surfaces on the bench while Schweinsteiger is joined on the bench by Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Paul Pogba. Some talent in case of emergency.
United fans will recognise Tyler Blackett’s name on the Reading team-sheet as Jaap Stam returns to Old Trafford as Reading manager.
