Becks won’t let it go as the links between Messi and Inter Miami continue
The ink on Lionel Messi’s new PSG contract is barely dry but the papers are already talking up where he might go next, with Inter Miami still being touted as a possible destination.
David Beckham‘s burgeoning MLS side had been linked with the 34-year-old Argentine previously in a curious long-term deal that would see him act as an ambassador for Barcelona (had he stayed) before moving to the young US side.
Now, however, reports are suggesting that Messi is buying up property in America, specifically, six luxury penthouse apartments in the city of Miami just a few weeks ago. Eyebrows raised.
David Beckham has reportedly held talks with Lionel Messi about joining Inter Miami when he leaves PSG.

The two are known to have been in touch previously and Messi has intimated that he could end his career over in the States before; similarly, Inter Miami’s co-owner Jorge Mas, like Beckham, has made no secret that he’d like to bring the likes of Messi, Ronaldo, Neymar and other big European names across the Atlantic at some point.
The Florida side have already some signed relatively impressive names such Blase Matuidi and Gonzalo Higuain, so the draw is clearly there for players especially towards the end of their careers, as it has always been.
Moreover, like Beckham when he signed for LA Galaxy, the likelihood is that Messi will also be offered the future opportunity to buy an MLS franchise when he eventually quits playing. These marquee moves are not just limited to the club: like when Becks joined LA back in 2007, they are statement signings that continue to legitimise a league that is improving in the US every year.
We expect the GOAT to absolutely tear it up in Ligue 1 this season (that front three is going to be petrifying) but imagine the kind of damage he could do in the MLS where, with all due respect, things just aren’t on the same level. Could it happen? Othe than going back to his home country, it seems like the most likely destination for him to finish his playing days.
