Belgium winger Yannick Carrasco has confirmed that Arsenal were interested in his services during the January transfer window
Carrasco moved to Chinese Super League newcomers Dalian Yifang from Atletico Madrid last year but already yearns for a return to Europe with both Manchester United and Arsenal reportedly interested in the attacker.
“There was interest from Arsenal and I had a lot of teams in January giving me the chance to go back to Europe, but here the president said it was difficult to go then,” he told The Sun.
“Maybe this summer it is possible. If it is a good thing and I want to go, maybe I can speak with the president.
“I try to do my best because I am a professional for my team after we can think about a solution. If I have a lot of teams who want me but the president decides I have to stay, I cannot do anything.
“All that you want is to be close to your family, and to go back to Europe is a good solution.”
Meanwhile Ajax sensation Hakim Ziyech has said that he is a fan of Arsenal with the club’s sporting director Marc Overmars confirming that the Moroccan international is free to leave during the summer.
“He leaves when a top club comes. He is in focus because of his achievements in the Champions League. Many big clubs are buzzing around him. We promised Hakim [that we would] agree to a good transfer,” he said.
