He’s just turned 17
Birmingham City have retired Jude Bellingham’s number 22 after his transfer to Borussia Dortmund.
Bellingham has played just 44 games for the club and has just turned 17.
Usually, retiring a player’s number is reserved for legends who have achieved a lot over a long career – the likes of Paolo Maldini.
But in a decision that has bemused fans of all clubs, the Championship side announced on Thursday afternoon that they would retire the 22 after Bellingham’s impressive 2019/20 season.
