Birmingham City will rebrand as the Small Heath Alliance for one match at the weekend by order of the Peaky Blinders.
The Blues’ are currently using its historic moniker and will revert to its original name in celebration of its connection to the BBC drama Peaky Blinders, which is set in Small Heath, Birmingham, in the 1920s.
It comes after an ‘order’ was issued by Peaky Blinders on their Instagram account, with Birmingham taking part in the social media rebrand.

The Championship outfit replied with: “Order accepted”.
Birmingham City was originally founded in 1875 as Small Health Alliance before the Blues changed its name.
In the Instagram post, the Peaky Blinders account said Birmingham must demonstrate its pride of being from the “cobbled streets of Small Heath” by going back to its roots and using its previous name once again.
The club has accepted the ‘order’ and its home ground, St Andrews, will become home to the Small Heath Alliance when they play Huddersfield Town on Saturday.

Birmingham City players will enter the pitch to the series’ theme song, Red Right Hand, with Peaky Blinders-themed hoardings set to surround the pitch.
Supporters will be able to purchase a a Small Heath Alliance matchday programme and ticket office staff will wear flat caps.
The BBC has also produced several Small Heath Alliance scarves that will be place on seats around the stadium.
It was recently announced that the sixth series of the Peaky Blinders will air on Sunday 27 February, with each episode following weekly at 9pm.
Earlier this month, a mural was revealed in Birmingham which depicted the series’ gang leader, Tommy Shelby.
