Anthony Joshua is the new IBF heavyweight champion of the world after ruthlessly dispatching Charles Martin in the second round at The O2.
Joshua predicted he would KO the American champ in the sixth round, but the power-punching Watford fighter took just two rounds to end the fight.
After a cagey first round, Joshua found his range and knocked Martin down with a beautiful short right hand. He was given a standing eight count but was allowed to continue. Joshua smelled blood and went charging at the unbeaten 29-year-old southpaw.
In the very next change Joshua caught him again with a vicious straight right following Martin’s jab back, and sent him sprawling to the deck. He was counted out by the ref as Joshua grinned in victory.
