Liverpool have agreed to sell Raheem Sterling to Manchester City for the princely sum of £49m.
It’s not the £50m the Merseyside club were hoping for, but who’s going to argue over a million pounds here or there?
The deal came at the 11Th hour as Brendan Rodgers’ side jet off on their pre-season tour of the Far East and Australia…a squad that Sterling was named in just 24 hours earlier.
The deal is believed to be £44m cash plus £5m in add-ons and the 20-year-old is now free to agree terms with City.
He is expected to have a medical at the Etihad in the next 24 hours.
Here endeth the saga. We knew there would be a happy ending.
