The game is off and police are on high alert.
Manchester United’s game with Bournemouth has dramatically been abandoned after a ‘code red’ security alert caused Old Trafford to be evacuated twenty minutes before the game.
The ground was urgently emptied of fans as tannoy announcements told those already within the stadium to vacate the area as quickly and calmly as possible.
This was due to a ‘suspect package’ having been discovered in the NW quadrant of the ground, with those in the Stretford End and North Stand told to leave first.
It was initially hoped that the game could start later than the rest of the Premier League programme, but now we can confirm that the game has been abandoned because the risks are too high.
It is unclear whether the game will be played at a later date or be declared a 0-0 draw as has happened in the past.

That is a genuinely stunning development at Old Trafford: match abandoned due to security concerns over "suspect package".

Wow, match abandoned at Old Trafford. This is unreal.

There is precedent with last game of season abandoned- remember Blackpool v Huddersfield they didn't replay just declared a 0-0 draw I think
