Brighton midfielder becomes second Premier League player ever to start match and not touch the ball

Brighton's Davy Propper became only the second Premier League player ever to start a match and not have a touch of the ball against Wolves

Ok, he came off after ten minutes, but still

Brighton and Wolves played out a thoroughly dull 0-0 draw at Molineux this afternoon. Nothing happened. Leander Dendoncker missed a couple of good chances but other than that, nothing happened.

This result leaves Brighton still fighting relegation, having not won a match since beating Crystal Palace in early March. Wolves, meanwhile, still have a shot of winning the Everton cup (finishing 7th), but have little else to play for.

But one record was broken during this drab affair: Davy Propper became only the second Premier League player ever to start a match and not touch the ball. Ok, he came off after ten minutes with an injury, but still. The record stands.

The other player, if you’re wondering, is Jason Roberts, formerly of Reading, Blackburn and Wigan.
