Frampton’s title fight is off after a freak injury in Philadelphia
Carl Frampton has responded defiantly to the freak injury which has ruled him out of his fight against Emmanuel Dominguez in Philadelphia, insisting that he will fight for another world title.
Speaking to JOE after the injury, which saw an ornament fall on his hand after reportedly being accidentally knocked over by a bystander, Frampton revealed that he will return to fight for a world title after recovering from the broken bones in his hand.
“I don’t wanna have another fight like this. Look, the plan was to have this fight, and fight for a world title. So the plan now is still to fight for a world title. This fight has not happened. It hasn’t happened for whatever reason. I’m absolutely gutted. But I don’t want to have another Emmanuel Dominguez type opponent, and then fight for a world title,” Frampton told TKO presenter Chris Lloyd in an exclusive interview with JOE.
“It’s a waste of your time, isn’t it?”
“It is, and I’m not getting any younger. I don’t want to be sitting around waiting here. I want to be involved in big fights and I want to go straight back into a big title.”
“I want to go out in a f**king blaze of glory. I want to be a world champion again. If I get offered a shot against any world champion, I'm taking it, absolutely no doubt in my mind.”@RealCFrampton won’t let his freak injury stop him getting back to the top. pic.twitter.com/5bhelt4r1t
