Let’s just say many thought it wasn’t exactly neutral commentary from Carl Froch.
Thousands upon thousands of people on this side of the world stayed up into the wee small hours to watch Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather go head to head in Las Vegas.
Many of those who watched the fight in this part of the world found themselves a bit cheesed off at the commentary of Carl Froch on Sky Sports, who didn’t really acknowledge the impact made by McGregor in the opening rounds in particular and appeared to go out of his way to express his admiration for Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather.
To be fair to Froch, his prediction that Mayweather would eventually take advantage of a tiring McGregor later in the fight was eventually proved correct, but there was something about his tone that stuck in the craw of many viewers.
Froch was even trending in McGregor’s native Ireland at one point during proceedings and we don’t think it was for the right reasons; a combination of the early start and McGregor edging towards defeat probably didn’t help the mood of some of those who posted the comments below.

Appreciated Adam Smith's balanced commentary on Sky, but Carl Froch gave Conor scant respect despite the experience gap between the two men.
